Africa

This post doesn't actually have anything to do with Africa.  I just needed a title, a random ice-breaker title for a random ice-breaker post, so off I went to Rhythmbox to pick a random song from my 210 songs (12 hours and 38 minutes, 738.1MB, yes I have an extremely limited music collection).  And Africa won.  Congratulations, Toto!

I am going to write better, super-informative posts later.  As in, later tonight, actually, because I'm in a very bloggy mood and plan on at least three.  Because I really need to catch up.

I'm doing engineering at UQ.  Just finished first year of a dual degree, BE/BSc, which was fun except I decided I now know everything I'll ever want to know about physics and have now switched my science major to computer science, to complement my mechatronics major in engineering.  Really need to get round to making that official.  Obviously, if you came through the drillin site, you'll know I'm a QRC scholarship recipient, which is pretty excellent!  But I'll write about that later.

This time last year I was lapping up every scrap of information about uni life that I could find - which means my strategy with my own blog is to spam it with posts on every possible topic I can think of: making friends at uni, organising your timetable, balancing courses in a dual degree, campus politics, applying for scholarships... I might even throw something about engineering in there!
